Helmholtz lecture Beatrice de Gelder (Department of Cognitive Neuroscience, Maastricht University)
Prof. De Gelder is a cognitive neuroscientist and neuropsychologist with degrees in philosophy and psychology. Her research interests align well with many of the topics investigated in the Helmholtz School. Among other things, she studies behavioral and neural emotion processing from facial and bodily expressions, multisensory perception, and nonconscious perception in neurological patients. She also edited a book on speech and reading.

Helmholtz Lectures take place from 4 to 5pm, with drinks afterwards next to the lecture room. Lectures are hybrid and streamed live via Teams.
